The standing rigging is an integral part of your rig, and should be checked annually. Rigging has to be replaced after 10 years or 30,000nm. Insurance companies and surveyors request our rig inspection report, which includes a survey of terminals, sheaves, tangs, sheave boxes, headbox, spreaders, brackets, and everything associated with the rig.
Installing - Setting up - Tuning - Removing Rigs
A correctly working rig, can make a huge difference to the performance of your yacht. Installation and tuning are a critical part of the project, and clarifying the correct loads on each stay is imperative. There is an array of different types of rigs, and each one has a different set up. Our rigging team has an in-depth knowledge to tune the mast for the best mix of performance, reliability and safe operation. Removing a rig from a yacht takes care and attention. When shipping your yacht by land, we take pride in packaging everything carefully, to ensure your rig arrives in the same condition.
At least once a season the winches should be serviced. We take great care when removing the complete winch, dis-assembling and submerging in our cleaning tank. Damaged parts are replaced before re-installing with the correct amount of waterproof winch grease and oil.
Furling units are an integral part of your rig, and should be serviced at least once a year, dismantling the complete system to access the inner bearing races. At least every five years the units should be removed for a comprehensive service.
