The boom is an integral part of the rig, and it is important to have the correct reefing system for your yacht. We offer all types of booms, from traditional slab reefing or single line reef to furling booms. Resistance to bending is crucial so the correct extrusion is important. This is paramount when using high quality sailcloth and boom vangs.

Making sure you have the correct reefing system is essential for safety, and that the system works flawlessly. With our range of booms we can offer the right choice to make your sailing trouble free. To be able to take in a reef simply and quickly, choose between traditional slab reefing, single line reefing and in-mast furling booms.

A carbon boom can offer weight savings of up to 35%. Because the boom is lighter, it has less momentum, making gybing easier. It also reduces the tendency to roll, when sailing downwind. With a stiff boom, you have better sail trim, and higher boat speed.

The ‘Y’ boom is a Park Avenue type carbon boom designed to allow easier reefing and sail stowage for the larger cruising yacht. Lazy jacks guide the sail on to the top of the boom while the beautifully shaped wings of the ‘Y’ boom help to catch and retain the mainsail when lowered.

Designed specifically for racing crews, these booms have a very deep profile to provide maximum stiffness to offer consistent sail shape, even with high sheet and boom vang loads.
